Adverbs of time are adverbs that explain when an action occurs. They can also clarify duration and frequency.
Clarifying time – examples:
- They went to the movies yesterday
- I wrote a grammar resource today
- I will call you back later
Clarifying duration – examples:
- I would like to move abroad for a year
- I’ve been waiting for you for an hour
- This shop has been open since the ‘80s
Clarifying frequency – examples:
- I often cook vegetarian and vegan recipes
- I rarely eat dairy
- I always drink coffee in the morning
