Interrogative Adverbs

Interrogative adverbs are common in the forming of questions in English.

The function of interrogative adverbs

Interrogative adverbs form an interrogation – a question. They are used to ask why, where, how, and when.

Examples:

  • Why are you so angry?
  • How did you complete that assignment so quickly?
  • When does the bus come?
  • Where are you going out tonight?
  • How often do you study English?
  • How much chocolate goes in this recipe?
  • How much does that dictionary cost?
  • How many people are in your team?
