Adverbs of Degree

The function of adverbs of degree

Adverbs of degree are used to express the extent of an action. You’ll recognise them easily as words such as:  very, slightly, quite, extremely.

The position of adverbs of degree

Typically, an adverb of degree will be placed before an adjective, adverb or verb. However, as with many grammar rules, there are exceptions to this. At times, it appears at the end of a sentence.
