Difference Words: Other, Another

The function of difference determiners

Determiners of difference are used to talk about something other than or additional to something else. They come before a noun in a sentence. The phrases used for difference determiners are: ‘other’, ‘another’, and ‘the other’. 

Examples:

• We’ll wait for the others to arrive before we begin. 
• May I have another glass of water?
• They had no other ice cream flavours than vanilla and chocolate.
