Your work is a huge part of your life. To truly achieve the best you can, you need to enjoy what you are doing. At readable.io, we are fortunate to love what we do.

I've been passionate about writing and building digital tools for longer than I care to admit, and what better way to work than to find a way to marry them together? I just needed to find the right project and reading Rudolph Flesch’s ‘Reading Ease’ was my lightbulb moment.
This led me to develop an online tool for measuring readability, which was readability-score.com. I quickly saw interest in that site grow, so I added to the list of algorithms included.
By combining a number of algorithms together I was able to produce a unique readability rating, which we still use for ReadablePro today.
Today, we use the much more user friendly domain of readable.io and I love how the tool has developed over time. I’m proud to say that we’ve grown organically as a bootstrap business in Brighton. We now have subscribers from all corners of the globe.
What gets me excited about tomorrow if growing the team and adding more great features to ReadablePro and our other tools.
We want to continue to other a unique experience to our subscribers and help them to keep on improving their content

Clear communication and clear writing is something I’ve always had a passion for.
My first job as a paid writer came with a £100 pay cheque and backstage passes to the all night rave I was asked to review. Not bad for a 17 year schoolboy in 1995.
I knew back then that the only way I could convey the passion I felt for the music was to write it in a clearly structured way. This was a skill and discipline I’ve carried with me when I shifted focus to marketing.
Clarity and honesty are probably the two biggest factors that have helped me as a marketer.
Along with those factors, you also need to have a product that you have total faith in. This was the main driving factor in my decision to join readable.io at the start of the year.
Readability is a cause I completely believe in and ReadablePro is a fantastic product. In the last few months, the changes we’ve made have created a formidable tool for anyone producing content. Be they a teenage music journalist or a seasoned content writer.
The decision was helped by Dave being a fantastic coder and his great outlook on how we should run a company.
What gets me excited about tomorrow is knowing that we are still only scratching at the surface of what we can do with ReadablePro.
The next few months, and the next couple of years, will really see ReadablePro mature as a product.
I’m looking forward to seeing how we build on the current offering and add great new features that our subscribers will love.
